About the Talk:
Savvy entrepreneurs the world over are always seeking the next best thing when it comes to buying or investing. That sentiment is no different when it comes to community development. Whether you’re a city planner, real estate investor or homebuyer, you want to find your town’s overlooked frontiers on the verge of discovery, so that you can maximize your investment and have a great story to tell at networking events. Learn from some neighborhood pioneers why Pine Hills just might be the next great frontier for Central Florida residents and investors.
Michelle Owens, Executive Director of the Pine Hills Neighborhood Improvement District (NID), has enjoyed varied careers over the years, working as a newspaper journalist, community development planner and small business owner. In all of her different careers, the mission has been the same: to foster community connections, work in service to the greater good, and leave a place a little better than she found it.
The Pine Hills Neighborhood Improvement District (NID) was created in December of 2011 as a recommendation from the Pine Hills Business Redevelopment Task Force. This NID focuses on public safety and neighborhood revitalization along the major business corridor within Pine Hills.
