A new restaurant is coming to the former Citgo station at 7101 S Orange Ave (MAP). No opening date has been announced.

It’s a project by the owner of Cerveza House, a locally owned bar at 7521 S. Orange Avenue.

The gas station property was purchased in March by Sarkis Inc, and is currently under renovation.

Two employees of Cerveza House bar confirmed with The Daily City that the gas station-turned-restaurant was indeed happening.

They did not share the name of the restaurant.

One shared that they are waiting on their restaurant license for the space.

The .62 acre property contains a 2,262 sq ft store built in 1965 and 4,125 sq ft of covered area underneath a tall canopy.

The building has a fresh mural covering the entire front of the building. These photos show the early beginnings of the mural when the building had been newly painted a dark grey and stenciled with banana shapes.

A permit was applied for August 16th for the installation of commercial cooking hood system.
