Brew Theory Brewery and Tasting Room to Create 13 New Jobs

Brew Theory LLC plans to create 13 new full-time jobs when it opens its contract beer brewery and tasting room inside a 1956 warehouse in the Callahan neighborhood at 400 Pittman Street.

The space, steps from Creative Village, will contain a lab, a homebrew shop, taproom, sandwich shop and a podcast room according to Orlando Sentinel.

City documents say it will also contain a coffee roasting facility.

The project consists of an interior renovation of an approximately 10,000 sq ft space including electrical upgrades, brewing equipment, upgrading interior spaces to accommodate the tasting room and seating.  Total capital investment for this project is approximately $950,000.

The business has requested assistance through the City of Orlando's Business Assistance Program, a matching grant program, for help with the cost of City fees. Approval goes before City Council Tuesday September 4th.

Total eligible fees for Brew Theory, LLC under the Business Assistance Program, are $59,704.18. The BAP will pay fifty percent of eligible fees ($20,000); this project qualifies for the maximum program award.  The fee breakdown is as follows:  Transportation Impact Fee @ 50% = $18,159.29, Sewer Benefit Fee @ 50% = $11,692.80 - $9,852.09 = $1,840.71.

City of Orlando's Business Assistance Program was approved by the Orlando City Council on June 18, 2001 to encourage small businesses to locate, expand or redevelop in the City of Orlando.  The Business Assistance Program assists with small-scale infrastructure projects, building permitting fees and impact fees.  The BAP pays fifty percent of eligible fees.  The maximum amount granted under the program guidelines is $20,000.
