Though Disney Springs (Website) was open for Memorial Day on May 25, 2020, very few ventured out to the large outdoor shopping and dining facility.
Several restaurants were open but most retail stores were closed. Guests were scattered here and there. All the tight spots along the walk ways where pedestrian traffic typically backs up were wide open.
The place was a ghost town.
But a safe ghost town. Disney Springs currently has the following safeguards in place:
Limited parking and reduced entrances
Temperature screenings prior to entry
Face coverings required for Guests ages 3 and up
Physical distancing practices including physically-distanced queues and physical barriers
Temporary operation modifications, including reduced hours at select locations and no scheduled entertainment offerings or high-touch interactive areas
An increased focus on disinfecting and sanitation, including the addition of hand-washing stations and hand sanitizers in key areas
We sent our photographer out to capture the (lack of) sights and (almost non-existent) sounds.
