“The goal for our projects is to preserve buildings from the past while bringing new purpose for future use," says Lamont Garber.
A multi-tenant project with local retailers and restaurateurs will soon occupy the 7,000-square-foot building at 1100 S. Orlando Avenue (MAP) in Winter Park. The project will be called “Mills Place.” Construction is expected to start spring 2020 and the project plans to have between three and four tenants.
The project will have a dedicated outdoor space with a distinctive landscape design, providing an enhanced social atmosphere with a neighborhood vibe.
Adjacent to the soon-to-be redeveloped Orange Avenue corridor, Mills Place is within walking distance to one of Garber Development’s first projects, the State Auto building, home to Foxtail Coffee Co., Foxtail Farmhouse, The Bear & Peacock Brewing Company, Create Your Nature and Dolce Vita Salon.
Similar to State Auto, this project will preserve design features from the building’s original structure while adding special design elements. The building was built in 1963
“Mills Place will be a unique space for people to shop, eat and play while connecting and interacting with old friends, new acquaintances or friendly faces,” Garber Development President and Owner Lamont Garber said. “The goal for our projects is to preserve buildings from the past while bringing new purpose for future use. Helping to redevelop the Orange Avenue corridor is an extension of our brand’s philosophy.”
