Inclusive Playground Coming to Lake Lorna Doone park in Parramore

Lake Lorna Doone Park at 1519 W Church Street (MAP) in Parramore is getting its first fully inclusive public playground for children of all abilities.

Park upgrades include a friendship swing, slides for multiple senses, chimes and bongo reach panels, sol spinners and ramps for accessibility.

The project is funded through a collaborative effort between the National Recreation and Park Association (Website) and The Walt Disney Company.

This project is one of many around the nation that is part of the “Meet Me at the Park Play Spaces” initiative which set out to bring play and physical activity to more than 1 million children and families.

The above video shows a friendship swing in action.
