On Becoming a God in Central Florida - New Showtime TV Show Coming This Month

1990s Central Florida is coming to TV. There’s a new one-hour dark comedy tv show on Showtime called “On Becoming a God In Central Florida” staring Kirsten Dunst. It’s set in a small Orlando-adjacent town in 1992 according to Variety. “Krystal Stubbs, a minimum-wage water park employee, lies, schemes and cons her way up the ranks of the cultish, multibillion-dollar pyramid scheme that drove her family to ruin in the first place.” It will depict “the reality of low wage workers struggling to survive, and turning to a pyramid scheme out of desperation,” according to Deadline. The show premieres Sunday, Aug. 25 at 10 p.m.
