22 Winter Park Restaurants & Shops Applied for the Outdoor Weekend Permit

22 businesses in Winter Park submitted the application for the Temporary Social Distancing Mother’s Day Permit designed to give them permission to "extend their services outdoors" at their locations this weekend according to the Director of the City Of Winter Park’s Communications Department Clarissa Howard.

From 4pm Friday, May 8th til 11pm Sunday, May 10th, restaurants with the permit can seat customers outdoors in areas they’re not licensed to seat customers in at their locations and retail businesses with the permit can put more than one rack or table outdoors at their locations. Retail businesses don’t need a permit if they just want to put one rack or table outdoors.

Downtown Winter Park restaurants and retail businesses located on the following streets can, with the permit, place additional seats, tables, or racks an extra 10 feet from the curb onto these streets:

  • Park Avenue (between Whipple and Fairbanks avenues)

  • New England Avenue (between Pennsylvania and Virginia avenues)

  • Morse Boulevard (between Center Street and New York Avenue

Restaurant tables must be placed at least eight feet apart according to the permit application.

Restaurants must stop seating guests at 9:30pm due to the existing Orange County mandatory curfew.

Bars, pubs and nightclubs that derive more than 50 percent of gross revenue from the sale of alcoholic beverages must continue not selling them for on-premises consumption.

All businesses must continue to follow the minimum mandates set forth Wednesday April 29th by Florida Governor Ron De Santis' Executive Order 20-112, also referred to as "Phase 1: Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step. Plan for Florida's Recovery" as well as those set forth May 1st by Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings' Executive Order 2020-12.

Citizens wishing to report misbehavior by businesses can alert the The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) via their online complaint form.

Below is the list of all the businesses that submitted the application for the permit.
