Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer Virtually Participates in a Cooking Class with City of Orlando Summer Camp

This Thursday, City of Orlando summer camp students at Odyssey Middle School will have a special virtual visitor as Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joins them for a live interactive cooking class.

This health and nutrition class will feature Mayor Dyer cooking with students as they learn how to make a breakfast classic, the omelet. Students will be able to virtually pick up new culinary skills and interact together live as they go through the cooking process.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Orlando summer camp program has gone virtual for the After-School All-Stars students. The overall program has more than 360 students virtually attending summer camp each Monday through Friday for three, 50-minute sessions.

The City’s After-School All-Stars program provides an innovative and diversified year-round curriculum to engage youth to help them to develop life-skills, maturity and confidence necessary to become responsible and productive citizens at home, at school and in their community.
